Meet Bubba Gumbo! He is a black Chihuahua cross who is fully neutered and ready to find his forever family.

Bubba is a healthy, happy puppy who is the perfect mix of youthful energy and deep affection.

Personality & Social Skills

Energy Level: Full of life, curious about the world, and highly enthusiastic.

Meeting New People: He can be a little hesitant at first, but give him just a few minutes and he warms up beautifully.

Other Dogs: He plays wonderfully with other dogs, large and small! He is also incredibly respectful of boundaries set by adult and senior dogs. (He has not been tested with cats yet).

Kids: He does great with older children! Because he can sometimes get "mouthy" when he is excited to play, some boundaries and training is needed when around younger children.

World-Class Snuggler

Once Bubba knows you are his person, he will stop at nothing to get close to you. His favorite place to be is snuggled up next to you on the couch or in bed. He is an expert cover-burrower—he loves to tunnel under the blankets and poke just his head out to keep an eye on you!

The Perfect Pack Member: Bubba thrives on companionship. He experiences a little bit of separation anxiety when he is completely apart from his human for too long. However, if he has a doggy sibling around, his anxiety completely disappears! He doesn't even notice his humans are gone when he has a canine friend to keep him company.

Training & Habits

Leash Manners: He walks beautifully on his leash with minimal pulling, though he might occasionally pause to admire a pretty flower or watch a squirrel.

Commands: He is highly food-motivated and loves his treats, which has made working on his basic commands a breeze!

Puppy Quirks: Bubba is a natural paper shredder (he did eat some homework once!) and enjoys digging the occasional hole in the garden. However, he is very respectful of the home and does not destroy household items. Just keep plenty of chew toys around to keep his puppy mind busy!

The Ideal Home

Bubba Gumbo would make an incredible companion for a single adult, a couple, or a family with older children. He just wants a home where he can play, learn, and bury himself under the blankets next to his favorite humans.
